I turned 24.. | Birthday haul 2017

Hello loveliess

Welcome back, it's been a minute since I last posted. I've had some family things to sort out and I was struck down by the sick bug, I'm feeling much better and things are starting to look up..
So, I recently turned 24 and although I was poorly I was still determined to go shopping and treat myself in hopes it'd make me feel a bit better (retail therapy is the best medicine) I thought I'd create a little haul for you guys featuring all the pretty things I picked up for my birthday and distract you from the fact I've approached mid twenties.

SIDE NOTE: This post is not me bragging, just a collection  of items I've wanted for a while.. I'm extremely grateful for all the kind birthday wishes, gifts and love. Shout out to everyone who made my birthday a little more special, I love ya x

Footwear
Usually, I'm not one for footwear, I tend to wear the same old shoes week in week out, that being said I thought it was time to get myself some new kicks. When I saw these trainers in H&M I instantly fell in love. They're a casual shoe, something I'd wear just out and about and I'm obsessed with that blush pink colour we're seeing everywhere. They're super comfortable and an absolute bargain at £19.99, how could I saw no?

Fragrance
Anyone who knows me well knows I'm a huge Nicki Minaj fan and I was super excited for the launch of her new perfume "Trini girl" I was kinda hoping I'd get this around Christmas time but the price point at that time was quite high so I waited for an offer and I managed to bag this 100ml bottle in superdrug for 20 quid (RRP £40) The scent is described as a juicy cocktail of exotic fruits and coconut, absolutely perfect for the warmer months ahead.

Jewellery
Every year I always get a new pandora charm for my birthday and Christmas, this year was no exception. I walked into the store with absolutely no idea which little gem to pick. I had a little flick of the mini catalouge and decided to get the panda. We own a black and white fat cat and sometimes we call him "little panda" so I thought it would be a great idea to add it to my collection.

Moving onto cosmetics, I asked my twitter followers for suggestions on what new products to pick up. I had a lot of responses and took their advice, managed to pick up quite a lot of new things to try and some old favourites too. I can literally spend hours wondering around the drugstore browsing all the cosmetics and skincare, there seemed to be some good offers on and I took full advantage.

Cosmetics
Real techniques miracle sponges are now a must have in my collection so I got myself a pack of two for £7.49 instead of the usual £9.99! If you haven't tried this sponge, where have you been?

L'Oreal had a 3 for 2 offer on and when you got 3 products you could get a free make up sponge. The three items I chose were the Infallible foundation in shade "10 porcelain" the Infallible fixing mist and my trusty true match powder in "Rose Ivory" I'm yet to try the sponge but I'll be doing a separate post on high street beauty sponges soon.

Because NYX is one of my favourite high street brands and I needed to add another soft matte lip creme to my collection, I went for the colour "London" which is a stunning everyday brown nude. Also noticed they had the colour correcting palette back in stock so I picked it up to try it out and see if it's worth the hype.

So many people recommended I tried out the Two Faced "Better than sex" mascara, I've read loads of reviews online raving about it. Obviously I couldn't ignore the hype and picked up the waterproof one for myself, I'm yet to test it out but when I do would you like a first impressions? I got this from Debenhams for £19 (I didn't even know my local Debenhams stocked two faced in store, danger alert)

Another product I picked up was the collection lasting perfection concealer in "Fair 1" I think every man and his dog knows about this concealer so we'll say no more.

A product that's new to me is the Pixi by Petra, endless silky eye pen. I won this item in a giveaway and was pretty excited about it. The shade I have is Opal Overcoat, which is a beautifully pigmented pale pink shimmer. I've used it once of twice across my lid and lasts super long without breaking down or crumbling. Impressed!

Last few items I got are the MUA single eyeshadows, I own a few already and I'm obsessed. Keep your eyes peeled for a blog post on the collection soon!

Lastly I picked up some skin and hair care items, some are new to me and some are constant repurchases.

The Garnier moisture bomb sheet mask has crept into my skin care routine and works so well to tackle my dehydrated dry skin. It works well to nourish deep down and prevent my skin from becoming flaky and yuck.

I'm not one for overly fancy hair care routines, I know what works for my hair and I stick to it. Exploring new haircare always tends to leave my scalp dry and irritated, that's why I always repurchase my L'Oreal Elvive extraordinary clay shampoo and conditioner. It never fails to leave my hair feeling super soft and clean.

During the winter months my lips get really dry, sore and cracked. I've tried multiple lip balms but the one I keep going back to is from The body shop. It's the Cocoa butter lip care stick and currently it's the only thing that stops my lips becoming sore, not to mention it smells amazing!
Another product from The Body Shop I love is the body butters, the Cocoa one sinks deep into my skin and leaves it feeling silky soft for days. More to the point, who doesn't want to smell like chocolate?

While browsing the skin care in boots I saw they had an offer on the Soap and glory facial washes, I already use the vitamin D face was with my cleansing brush at night time so I thought I'd try out the poreless face foam. I'm a sucker for Soap and glory products and I'll be going a big Soap and glory giveaway when I relaunch my blog and go self hosted. Let me know if that's something you're interested in!

Lastly, I thought I'd mention another item I won in a giveaway, it's the Revlon super 10 hair mask which is meant to have 10 real benefits including strengthening damaged hair, giving amazing shine and anti frizz. I'll let you know if all the claims are true.

So, that concludes my birthday haul,
I hope you've enjoyed reading.

PREVIOUS POST.. £2 MAKE UP STORAGE!?

Primark make up storage

Hello loveliesss
Welcome back, I hope you're all warm and well

I was browsing around my local Primark the other day and I spotted some acrylic looking make up storage, you know the ones that look super pretty on a shabby chic dresser. I picked it up and noticed it was only 2 pounds! Obviously I took it to the till with me, how could you not for 2 quid!

When I removed the packaging I began adding products that I use everyday and I was suprised at how much I could actually fit in there. The container has a large area which I filled with setting powder, every day eye shadow, brow powder and even my real techniques beauty sponges.
The container has 6 lipstick compartments that I filled with my favourite nudes and glosses. Behind the lipstick holders there's to larger area's where I've put some more lip products and a few pencils.

I'm really pleased with this purchase actually because it holds all my essentials and they're not easier to find in the huge mess of my collection.

There seemed to be a few other storage containers in the range, a drawer set, ones for cotton pads and another for ear buds, but the clear plastic ones seemed to be out of stock when I picked this up and they only had black left. I'm going to revisit soon and hopefully pick up the rest of the storage range.

I think its safe to say that this is an absolute steal. I've seen make up storage just like this online that ranges between £15-30. Okay it's probably not the strongest plastic but if it's just going to sit on my side where I get ready, I don't see it as an issue!

If your looking for make up organisers like that or fancy getting some new ones, I'd 100% recommend having a browse around primark and getting some of these! For £2, how can you even say no to that?

As always, thanks for being here.
I hope you enjoyed this post.

Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Lipkits

Hello Loveliesss!!

Make up revolution has completely taken the affordable drugstore products to a new level over the past few years. With so many new products launching this year, I was really excited when these hit the website. I've been waiting forever and a day to get my hands on these and decided to pick up three shades that are right up my street.

Wanna find out if these are worth the hype? Keep reading to find out.

ORDERING
So, to start I decided to purchase colours I know will get a lot of use. I'm all about the nude lip life and played it safe when getting these three, but there are so many gorgeous shades in the line, something I think will suit everyone. I found that swatch images on the website wasn't that helpful when trying to choose your shade but there's a swatch video on their youtube channel that's a lot more useful to decide what to get.
I ordered mine from the Tam beauty website but you can also find them exclusive to superdrug online or in store. My order was processed and delivered within 7 days which is quite a long time but we'll see if it was worth the wait.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?
Each kit contains a lip liner pencil and a matte liquid lipstick, both identical in colour.

PACKAGING.
The kits come in a sleek matte black box. The box has shiny gold detailing and a pair of  big juicy lips with the colour on (Although the image isn't a true representation of the shade colour and appears to be glossy..?) I found it really tricky to actually get into  because the sticky circles that seal the box were annoyingly difficult to remove.
Each liquid lipstick is in a clear plastic tube and a screw on doe foot wand. It's a simple design and I love the gold detailing.

SHADES
As mentioned previously, there are lots of different shades to chose from (8 in total I think) I picked the three I thought would best match my skin tone. I chose a dusty pink nude, a more warm brown nude and a dark brown. Two quite subtle and everyday and something more bold. Just like to mix it up.

NOBLE.
Noble is a beautiful warm toned nude shade, suitable for everyday look and gives a subtle pretty colour to the lips. The lip liner was creamy and super comfortable to apply. After lining my lips I used the liquid lipstick to swipe over the top. I got Really even coverage with just one application which I was really impressed with.

GLORY
This shade was a bit of a risk for me, I love browns and nudes but I haven't got many lip products quite this dark. Again, the liner was super easy to use but the liquid lipstick was a bit patchy on first try. It was buildable and is super pigmented after a little patch work I got an even coverage and it lasted a good few hours before fading and coming off.

ECHELON
Probably my favourite out of the 3. This is a gorgeous dusty pink nude colour and I think it would look incredible on so many different skin tones! Had no problem with the lip liner or liquid lipstick and it lasted the longest out of the three. Super pigmented and really pretty. I'd 100% recommend picking this up if you can!
(PS, What does Echelon even mean?)

These lip kits retail at £6 each which I think is pretty good going for the quality. Make up revolution are such an affordable high street price but they never skip on quality which I love!

I've heard some people mention these are quite close dupes for the Kylie lip kits, I can't comment on that too much as I don't own one, they're the same concept and they seem relatively similar? I dunno, let me know in the comments if you've compared the two brands, I'd love to know.

Have you tried these yet? If so let me know what you think and what your favourite shade it.
